How seven wonders of the worlds selected?  At present we have the new 7 wonders of the modern world, which were selected through an international competition held by the company New Open World Corporation. The mechanics of the voting had 3 modalities, one registering the mail on the company’s website, the second by SMS and the third by means of a pay phone. The winners were announced, in a ceremony held on July 07, 2007 in the city of Lisbon in Portugal, they are:

What are the 7 new wonders of the modern world?

In 2007, 7 new wonders of the world were added to the canonical list. At the origin of this new list, the New Seven Wonders Foundation, a private foundation (without any link with UNESCO), with a jury composed of internationally renowned architects such as Zaha Hadid, César Pelli, Tadao Ando, Harry Seidler, Aziz Tayob, Yung Ho Chang and with Federico Mayor, former Director-General of UNESCO, as president.

Wonders of the world names: The jury had drawn up a list of 21 sites or buildings dating from antiquity to the twentieth century, located on all continents. The criteria included aesthetics, architectural feat and historical relevance of the site. Following the vote of millions of Internet users around the world, 7 sites were designated new wonders of the world, on July 7, 2007 in Lisbon:

Taj Mahal

Machu Picchu is the 3rd world wonder: The construction of Machu Picchu dates back to the 15th century, during the great period of Inca civilizations. It was one of the residences of Emperor Pachacútec, a religious sanctuary, then a refuge for the Incas who tried to resist the Spanish conquistadors. Its strategic location, difficult to access, was indeed their asset to carry out their resistance. 5. Christ the Redeemer Statue, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
