About History of India – The Land of Diversity, Culture, Colours, Mysteries, Festivals. It has started from the era of King Chandra Gupta (reigned 320 to c. 330 ce) the first king of India to the current Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi Ji (2021). It is completely fascinating.

India is called the ‘Land of diversity and Culture’ because it consists of varied culture, and customs. The main religions of India are- Hinduism, Jainism, Sikhism, Zoroastrianism, Buddhism, Christianity. because India is home to many people with different religions, castes, cultures and traditions.

Once you travel in India you can really get to know why India is called “the land of colours”. India is a vibrant mix of people from different cultures, traditions, ethics and land. History of India: Bharat – Hindustan
Its Original name is Bharat also known as The Republic of India. The name “India” is originally derived from the name of the river Sindhu (Indus River) and has been in use in Greek since Herodotus (4th century BCE). The term appeared in Old English as early the 9th century and remerged in Modern English in the 17th century. It is also said that Bhārata was selected as the name of the country of India in 1950. The name Bhārata or Bhārata-varṣa “Bharata-varsha” is said to be derived from the name of Rishabha’s son Bharata. Several Puranas state that it is derived from the name of Bharata, the son of Rishabha.

26th January, 1950. When the first Constitution of India came into existence on 26th January, 1950 Bharat was thought to be the other official name of the Republic of India. It is also said that “INDIA stands for Independent nation declared in August.” but there is no substantial evidence for the same.
